× Additional Requirement for New Tenancies in Rent Pressure Zone
In the case of a new tenancy in a rent pressure zone, a landlord is required to furnish the tenant, in writing, with the following
information at the commencement of the tenancy:
(i) The amount of rent that was last set under a tenancy for the dwelling;
(ii) The date the rent was last set under a tenancy for the dwelling;
(iii) A statement as to how the rent set under the tenancy of the dwelling has been calculated having regard to the rent pressure zone formula.
× Reviewing the rent for an existing tenancy in a Rent Pressure Zone
Where a landlord is reviewing the rent in a Rent Pressure Zone the amount can not be greater than the amount determined by the formula R x (1 + 0.04 x t/m).
The existing requirement remains that the new rent is not greater than market rent having regard the letting values of dwellings of a similar size, type and character and situated in a comparable area.
Additionally the rent amount for three comparable dwellings advertised in the previous month remains. Rent review samples can be found
