The purpose of this research project is to provide a up-to-date and robust informtion on the Small Landlords (1-2 properties). The research project is part of a strategy priority for the RTB to use data and research to promote a better understanding of the rental sector, monitor trends, assess their impact and influence policy and outcomes. The survey began in April 2022 and the publication occured in December 2023.

The survey uses a sample of 500 small landlords (1-2 properties) which is representative in terms of region and number of tenancies. Quotas were set for the 2022 survey based on the number of tenancies. Quotas were also set based on the number of registered tenancies in each county where the landlord provided contact details and agreed to be contacted.

Further details can be found in Appendix of the report, down the page.
