The Medium Landlords Profile - RTB Rental Sector Survey
The following information provides details of the profile of medium landlords operating in the private rented sector in Ireland. The profile was created from information gathered through a survey of 250 medium landlords undertaken in 2020.

The medium private landlords study was commissioned by the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB), undertaken by Amárach Research in 2020 and published in 2021. The purpose of this element of the research project is to provide up-to-date and robust information on medium landlords operating in the private rental sector. The research project formed part of a strategic priority for the RTB, to use data and research to promote a better understanding of the rental sector, monitor trends, assess their impact and influence policy and outcomes. For the purposes of the research, medium landlords were defined as being associated with between three and twenty tenancies. Fieldwork for the medium landlord research was carried out between February and May 2020. The margin of error was 6.16% at a 95% confidence interval. Should you have any questions or queries, you can contact research@rtb.ie.
