The Residential Tenancies Board was presented with the Silver Smarter Travel Mark by the National Transport Authority (NTA) today.

The Smarter Travel Mark is a three-tier certification. It recognises and celebrates organisations that support active and sustainable travel on the commute and beyond for their workforce and visitors to reduce single-person car usage.

The award demonstrates the RTB’s commitment to changing behaviours and encouraging use of sustainable travel options by staff and visitors. The sustainable travel options promoted include walking, cycling, public transport usage and carpooling. Shane Hayes, Senior Smarter Travel Officer from the NTA, presented the award to Leigh Coughlan, Facilities Manager of the RTB who accepted on behalf of the organisation, alongside Director, Rosemary Steen.

Leigh Coughlan said:

“Achieving the Silver Smarter Travel Mark demonstrates that the RTB prioritises the importance and value of sustainable travel. We look forward to implementing further Smarter Travel initiatives to support staff in choosing environmentally friendly transport options.”
